RN, When my mom applied, she got turned down at first. Her Dr said he had to word the paperwork differently and then she got approved.

Oxygen 24/7 really did make her feel better and think better.

RN That's what the doc is telling me, Christy. He said I won't believe how much better I will feel when my body and brain is getting enough oxygen.

RN I'm logging off my computer and going to bed. My computer has only been on for 1 day, 7 hrs and 45 minutes this time (I boot it up when I get out of bed, and log off when I go to bed). Considering the "on time" for the computer is at best just under 2 days, more likely at well over 2 days, and lately breaching into the 3 days margin, I think I'm getting off pretty light for a change. And an extra bonus on top is I get to sleep a full night's sleep in the dark!! Yay!!

RN even tho it's FEDERAL disability, what state you are in also matters. Shouldn't, but it does. It's how you word things, how the doc words things, not just what your "disabilities" are.

That being said, most people get denied at least once. My brother didn't, but he waited a long time to even apply. He's getting so little SSDI it's pathetic. If he were a chick who never worked and got knocked up, he'd be getting more benefits.

Right now, hi everyone! Seems like a long time since I've been on here. Half our medical center is currently in Haiti setting up medical clinics and digging trenches for water lines. When another group goes in late March, I may be going with them.
We are a tiny medical center but we raised over 69k in one week to get doctors and medical supplies to Port au Prince. Even in these hard times, people are able to find something to help out.

As for me, things are rolling along. DS graduates from IU in May with his masters in Public and Enviromental affairs. He has an interview in SoCal this next week. I hope he gets the job! We cannot afford to have him go to many interviews--this trip cost almost $1,000 between a new suit, flight, hotel and rental car. Keeping my fingers crossed, as I know he is both excited and nervous.
DD is home from Germany and working toward, well, going back to Germany. She will finish college in May, work somewhere in Europe for the summer (she is hoping for Ansbach, Germany, again, and I wish I could go and visit her again, as it was the best vacation I ever had), and then a year of student teaching. She wants to teach at an American school in Europe or on a military base.

DH is going to work for the census and try to help us pay a few bills. It will be so nice when the kids are out of school and working! It is my dream to be able to quit my job or go parttime in another 1 or 2 years. Meanwhile, like everyone else, our 401k is less than a 101k at this point!!
I look at my double chin and my dreams of world travel and see college tuition dollars instead!

Hello to all the familiar names and hello to all the new names, too.

RN I just listened to a disturbing advertisement where you are to count your daily bowel movements.

Luckily Colon Flow can save you.

Yuck!

RN...DH gets so aggravated when I add premium wild bird seed to the walmart list. He says we can barely feed ourselves (LOL!). But any morning I sleep in, like today, there's still a fresh batch of bird seed sprinkled out on the deck rail even though I didn't do it :-) I asked him why he does it and he said "Well the goddam things were sitting there all hungry looking at me through the window." LOL!

RN: Yuck, what if you don't go every day?! What if you've had GB surgery and you only go every couple days! YIKES!

Naja, your post made me LOL so loudly that my DH came to see what was so funny. He chuckled and smiled broadly enough to make the corners of his eyes crinkle. He feeds my "damned cats" even when he doesn't want to, and he makes sure their litterbox is clean because I would have extreme difficulty doing it. He is a good man and he loves my cats because he loves me. RN, I'm appreciating my man.

RN, I am wondering how I lost all these years because last I knew, Tabby's son had started at Cal Poly (?), decided it wasn't the right school, and that was just yesterday and now he has his MASTERS!?! (HI Tabby and congrats to your son!)

...and also RN...I notice this thread got onto a gross subject again and I'm taking that as a sign that I better stop eating while reading this thread! :-) (kinda late for dinner anyway)
