That's what I said - but they didn't have fire when they caught the chickens.

Yeah... scratch my earlier post when I referred to them not having fire when they killed the chickens. I meant to say (in reference to my earlier post) that they didn't have fire when they CAUGHT the chickens.

Alicia is insufferable. In her bio she says her pet peeve is people who are rude! Hey, lady, talking over people, constantly interrupting, and yelling are mega rude.

I loved the show! I just LOVE Survivor! I'm so glad it's back, that the new season has started! I really miss it during the off season. I'm so glad it's all new players!!! Re the women offering to get nekkid for fire, I'm not sure "they" did that. I thought it was just one woman telling another woman to do that. I could totally be wrong though. So far, no one stands out as super impressive or likeable. I was impressed when the one girl caught the chickens though. The little person guy impressed me too with his strength. I thought it was a good move for Mike to steal the axe. Then, he did a good job handling the women when they came over to get fire. He wasn't cocky or mean (the way Matt probably would have been), but he didn't give them fire either, which I think was good game playing. I was also impressed with Jay's fire making ability. (He looks like Matthew McConaughy in his photo.) I thought quite a few of them made very bad moves already though. Most especially Matt, Alicia, and Colton. I also think Christina fighting with Alicia at TC was not smart on either of their parts. It seems to me like many of them are acting as if they've never watched Survivor. Even if they hadn't before they were recruited to be on the show, they should have then studied previous seasons ... and learned how to make fire! The prize is $1 million! All of the women disappointed me because they let the fire go out. Matt is way too arrogant and not thinking long term about having to get along with the women. And thinking that the women should apologize! For what?! Alicia is way too loud and confrontational. Colton ostracized himself from his tribe right away! Not smart! And it looks from the previews that Sabrina is upset with him (called him a virus?), so he is probably playing a really terrible game. They should all know that anything can get you voted out and because of that, they should lay low in the beginning. I guess some people just cannot help themselves.

Happymom, I thought the same thing about Matt saying the women should apologize! There's no way the men would have kept the agreement to share the chicken if they had caught them both. I'm looking forward to the tribes being mixed up, and seeing how the men who become members of Salani feel about not having a shelter or any of the stuff Mike stole from the women!

Kimberly has local ties so I'm rooting for her. Her Dad is a HS football coach & was well liked the 5 yrs he coached one of our 2 5A football teams. He left here for a head coaching job in Temple Tx I think just a yr ago. There was a big write up in the paper Wed. about Kimberly. She is a real out doorsy type girl. She actively has competed in 4 different sports. She was also a river raft guide for several summers. She is addicted to Survivor & has never missed an ep. since the very beginning. From what I saw of her on the 1st ep., she is laying a bit low & that's good for her. She will be a standout in the challenges. Even, the big mouthed girl hand picked her as one of the strongest women when they were walking to camp. I don't have a fav man yet but I have several that I really don't like: Matt is my least fav. I hope he isn't around long or if he is, he changes his game. I just wanted to slap that smirk off of his good looking face every time he was on camera.

They actually have done several pieces on Kimberly in our local paper but, the one on Wed. was the most informative. I will update you all if/when there are more interviews from her. Keep your fingers crossed that we'll be talking about her for awhile. Hey Mods, I just realized that this & my last entry could be considered spoilers. If they are, please move them to that area. I apologize if I'm wrong for posting this general info. here.

How fortunate she was to break her arm and be put under medical care! Who knows what kind of progress that tumor could have made in another month! She sounds like there are many problems with the arm, but it is just possible that saved her life!

Don't they have to get a physical, I would think they would have noticed a tumor, unless their physicals are just bp and stuff like that.

It doesn't always show up. My tumor in the uterus grew from the size of a tangerine to the size of a cantaloupe - in just two weeks. The doctor was stunned when he did the surgery.

I doubt they would scan them which is how they'd find tumors, right? They probably just do a general physical, i.e. bp, listening to lungs and heart with a stethoscope, etc.

I was really surprised to read that Jeff thought the guys would agree to finish the challenge. I understand his reasoning, but I'm actually shocked that not only did he really think they would agree to continue it, I think Jeff himself would have wanted to continue it if he'd been a contestant. I think it was smart for the girls to try to convince them to finish it. I also think it was smart for the guys to keep their guaranteed win and avoid TC.

It was a no win situation for the guys. If they had continued the challenge and lost they would be down one person and possibly be considered stupid and arrogant for assuming they would win. In an odd way, their refusing the option of continuing showed that they respect the women's game and ability (whether they really do is another story).

If it had happened the other way around, an injury on the men's team, I doubt the women would have wanted to continue. They would have kept the win.

This is a contest - if the rules state that the same number of people who begin a challenge must finish it, then there was no question about going on - because the women's team was NOT eligible to win!

I figured that if they continued, the men would have had one person sit out the rest of the challenge as they always do when the teams are uneven.

Just watched Apprentice. No way Donald Trump would have threw away a sure win.

Merry, I think you are right that one of the men would have had to sit out the rest of the challenge.

I did not get that impression. I don't recall Jeff saying anything and my thought was that it could actually be a hinderance to the guys because they all would have to complete each task, like walking the beam. It could have actually been a bonus to the women to have one less person.

I missed the first episode. Can someone please guide me to a web location where I can watch it? Thanks in advance. I haven't checked Hulu+ yet, but I intend to do that today!

i dont understand why the comp couldnt continue. One girl would have to go twice.... the men could have chosen who THEY thought should go twice. That way they could chose who they think is the weak link i'm not exactly sure why this happened the way it did. now the guys are up by one.

Just got around to reading about the tumor Kourtney is dealing with. Her interview was done last week and the tumor had been discovered the week before so her broken arm didn't seem to have been what helped discover the tumor Aren't they finished filming this season already anyway?

Sunshyne...as jeff said the rules stated 8 on each side to start and finish the challenge. The men had the option...and they chose to stop it and be declared the winners.
