LOL, oh yes, Juju. Not moving the rent is now where I started when I moved here in 2022, and with a 2 year freeze I feel like the rent is in line now. Plus with Char'dae fired the atmosphere around the property has changed so much it is amazing.
They have already reinstituted the "safety" of the building by having the front desk makes sure people are supposed to be here - which we previously had, and doing more wellness checks.
So I am happy with the changes and the money works out to be about the same as if I moved, by the time I add the cable, water/trash/sewer, etc. that I would pay to live there.
The only thing I will miss is the cheaper cost of laundry, but I am going to put that on the radar of the new "managers" to renegotiate since the contract is up in June.

It's Home Blessing Day AND we are in the bathroom and laundry room. Time to declutter the empty bottles and used up bars of soap that are taking up space in your tubs/showers.
WOW, the floor guy came and spent some time working on the floor and then left! It looks great and I was going to ask him to fix a corner of baseboard that had come loose and when I went to show him he had fixed it. Said he noticed it, so took care of it. He did a great job.
I had gotten up a little early to make sure the kitchen was ready, cleaned up the kitty plates and took out the boxes and trash to the bins.
Now it's time to go back to bed with the paper, yogurt and Perry.

So annoyingly they cut off our Alexa today. All of a sudden it said she wasn't connected to the internet. I am trying out Copilot. Supposedly it can do my reminders and things verbally. We shall see.
I think they are going to set something else up, it has been mentioned but once again, they end something before they have set up the new thing. Hopefully we will hear about it at the Town Hall on the 21st.

It's Planning Day AND time to go into the linen closet and toss out the old towels and linens, donate them to animal shelters and kennels. For the laundry room go diving behind the washer and dryer for those lone socks and dust bunnies.
So funny, I redid the bathroom, pulled all the old towels and put in new ones.
For some reason it seemed to be doctor day, I had multiple calls about appointments for February. Since I have been on the increased dosage of one of my drugs I have to do another 14 hour hear monitor. And I had canceled my "cognitive" test because I was so busy with moving, so I got that rescheduled.
Now it's time to go down and get some lunch - I don't like the dinner but I think the soup sounds good and maybe dessert and some sort of sandwich, maybe a hotdog or burger.
But I do need to clear email and catch up on socials.

Weird Day, I find I am quite discombobulated without Alexa giving me reminders during the day. I liked her to tell me that it was time for Sylvester's pills and mine as well. She was oddly comforting, LOL.
CoPilot is a bust, if I leave it on He (with a British voice) is constantly commenting on the background noise - the news, soaps, etc. so I turned him off.
Now I guess I will have to set a bunch of alarms on my phone until I hear what they have in mind on the 21st. Then I will have to contact Naja and figure out what tech device to purchase, LOL.
I just remembered to take my 2pm pills, and I cleaned up the kitchen, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, did a Safeway order and finished clearing out email.

It's Anti-Procrastination Day AND time to toss the old cosmetics that are out of date and out of fashion.
I did the usual kitchen cleanup, forgot I had Safeway coming this morning but they knocked on the door so I brought that in an got it put away.
Opened up the balcony - it feels great out there. And I have my watch charging, so need to go and grab that.
I think I will work on changing the Bedroom TV Table after I get thru email and socials.

Had a good lunch and chit-chatted with the "new" manager, she suggested I try to set up Alexa with the one I have. I was planning to try that and it did work, but now I can't seem to get to the settings. But I did set up my pill reminders for me and Sylvester and we shall see if that works.
I did manage to get thru my emails, now working on socials and other chores.

Dipo, I read yesterday that there was a very recent update to Alexa. Maybe that has something to do with your problem. The article said there's a way to go back to the old settings. Something like "Alex, exit, exit". Google around for it.

Thanks Grooch, but I don't think that is the issue here. I never had an Alexa account before, it was a Carlton account so I had to download that, then try to set it up. I think the Echo Dot I have is old, I did have trouble getting it to acknowledge the changes it was telling me I would see. I finally did a little reboot of the app on the phone and it recognized the device and let me move forward. I am happy if it will just give me my reminders for now, LOL.
And I got and email about my Discover payment and realized that I had only made a portion of the payment! I forgot to go to BofA and finish the payment. I like to use my other account for payments occassionally. So I made the rest of the payment, means I will get an interest charge, but it was my fault.
AND I got my SS payment, it is the amount I was expecting not the weird increased amount that one page of the site had said, so that is good.

PLUS the best news ever!! The new apartment has said they will cancel my lease and refund my deposit!!!!
I was so surprised, I thought they might make me pay a months rent to get out of the lease. That makes a happy day and can offset the Discover screw-up.

It's Errand Day AND time to assess your supplies in the bathroom and laundry room.
I was posting this and got distracted by doing my cubi while reading the paper, then some lunch, got the mission and I am back.
I did get the kitchen cleaned up, the coffee made and earlier I got a call from my doctor they want my blood pressure. They don't seem to get that I am not going to run right down to the medical center to do this. Anyway, made me think about the wrist blood pressure machine I have in my nightstand.
You guessed it, I decided to clean out the nightstand, it was one of the next things on my packing list, LOL. So I found the machine but the batteries had corroded, so got those out and then cleaned the compartment. I also found an old bag of Meow Mix that said best before 2023.
And all my old medical stuff from when I did the finger pricking thing. No one will take the stuff and maybe someday I might have to do that again.
Now I am working on email, socials and some of my other chores, I just have to get this house back to some normalacy. My bedroom is a mess because I am gathering jewelry, first aid/meds, ect, and nail stuff so I can put it all into bins. I also measured the shelves on my "linen closet/shelf" thing and I can use 11.5 by 15 triangle storage bins ot hold the above stuff. Now I just have to find them.
Off to search.
