This starts tonight. Anxious to see how these moms compare to the Pittsburgh group. Previews show one mom as totally cuckoo bananas, making the original moms look like June Cleaver.

OMG..........I started watching the DVR of the premiere episode this AM as I prepared for work. I am not 15 minutes into this show but I already realized that this is "Dance Moms" on steroids. *You have a dance teacher who is more aggressive then Abbie < the one that is a slight challenge to understand> With a winning at all costs attitude. * A smart alecky little boy with much gusto confidence. * An eye rolling Mom

this show is TERRIBLE. their dancing is terrible. how they are winning anything is beyond me. seems way more scripted than the original. and give that poor boy some tshirts and quit making him dance in booty shorts!

I gave up on this show after the first episode. I signed back in here to see if it got better - evidently not.

I've been watching this show and I think it's sad that the children can manage to get along while their mothers are constantly fighting. They are taking all the fun out of it for the kids. Shame on them mothers.

The producers have a hand in this dysfunctional behavior. Reality tv is a joke.

I am sure the producers do have a big hand in this but the mothers give them something to work with. On another note I was very impressed with the dancing this week and I haven't been since day 1.

I don't watch this one or the "original" one, but saw tonight's preview where one of the girls ask their mom "are you stupid?" That would only happen once if that was my child. (Actually it would never happen because my kids would be afraid of losing their teeth...lol) Unbelievable!

Wow, never heard of this one, I am ashamed to say I watched the one with Abbey, does this really happen or is it scripted. Do mothers actually allow someone to berate and abuse their children this way. It is a train wreck that I keep watching.

okay -- I am going to weigh in on this.. My daughter has done studio dance/all star pom/jazz and now high school song (pom/jazz) for over 10 years (she is 15). In the all-star (club) yes there are coaches like that, that are tough -- and "save the tears for the pilllow/car ride home" "Only cry if you are hurt". "yell at you if you don't know the routine, don't have the tech to do the routine, being lazy, that make fun of the moms with the kids and yes the kids get an attitude that reflects back toward their moms -- it happens -- especially in high level "winning" studios/clubs/ and yes high school too. Its tough, but once you get through it -- it really has made my daughter(how was very shy) a very strong individual, and has had so many dance opportunities. She has learned how to work as a team even when you hate 1/2 of team, she has learned persistence, she has learned not to quit when things get hard, she has learned that winning is fun (yes), but winning is not everything its the experience that goes with that team win/lose that makes her stay. The hard part comes when she tries something new (high jump/track and field) and is not the "best" at it, she tends to over berate herself. Do I agree - sometimes yes, sometimes no -- I see where the reality show is over playing it for ratings sake, but in some cases that does happen maybe not to that extreme -- (ie -parents would never dare to come in and yell at coach like abby during a class) -- usually its over email, or out in the parking lot. If a parent does come in like that "to have it out" the coaches I have seen usually take it "outside" away from the kids, but then after the coach will come back in and talk about how "crazy town" that mom was... boys football, baseball, basketball, lax those coaches are not saints either and my daughter has heard lots of fun stuff on the sidelines with pep squad...

i was a team manager for some sports when i was in high school. actually my basketball coach when i was in JUNIOR HIGH is the reason I didn't do sports at the high school level. i couldn't handle all the anger and aggression that coaches seem to have. another reason is that i hated being yelled at. i just wanted to have fun. i was apparently not made for competitive sports lol but i have to say it is pretty effective if you want results. i can't think of one coach throughout my entire high school career that was not a 'yeller'. i took dance for 10 years but i was apparently in the lower end group so there wasn't much expected of us. we didn't get yelled at. i remember our instructor getting a bit of a reprimand from the owner (also instructor) because she wasn't pushing us along fast enough.
