Costa, the prize Jen won for winning the mystery box challenge was to sit out for the elimination challenge. She chose to cook and wound up in the bottom three.

Oh yeah, thanks, Lex!! I couldn't decide if that was a bonehead move or not. I totally understand her reasoning: she came there to cook. BUT... that was a total #FAIL. She had a freebie and she blew it and almost got eliminated because of it!

TNT - you can actually watch the semifinal HERE. Some kind soul has put it up in 3 parts. The link is the first part, and you'll see the next two on the right. Enjoy! (I had to watch it as I missed Monday night as well.)

I forgot to note that as poorly as Christian was portrayed on the show, the three judges gave him great praise and big hugs when they kicked him off. I think that there were probably other sides to Christian that weren't broadcast so much.

All along the edits led me to believe that Christian would be there in the end. I kind of wonder what would have happened if Ben was in the final 3. I think he would have rocked the 3 course meal challenge.

Kar, no one ever said he couldn't cook. Most said he was great, in fact. But no one liked his attitude, including the judges. Heck, even Suzy said she wanted Adrien to win when she got kicked off. (She later changed her mind and decided she wanted to lose to "the best" and thought calling Christian the best would save face.) As for Ben, I dunno, Kooklie. I don't know if he could've held it together for 2 hours to create and serve a cohesive 3 course meal. He got frazzled way too often.

Costa, I don't think their affection and hugs were because he could cook, that was the point I was making. They *liked* him.

TNT, not sure we think in lockstep, but I don't care if it is advantage, disadvantage, being able to choose for others or dragged down by another cook or riding the coat tails of a good cook, or what.. I would prefer that they just cooked and competed and were judged on the merits. And I just don't like Jen. But, again, I don't watch cooking shows so unless she comes back on masterchef allstars, I don't have to see her again. They played up Christian's attitude but Suzy and Jen had plenty of attitude and trash talking too. I liked Adrian.

Thanks for the link, Teach! Now if someone would just do that for Hell's Kitchen as well!

Who cooks quail at home? I do not like Jen at all. Every chance she had she trashed Christian. I think she was picked over Adrian for the cookbook rep and her looks. When they brought on Adrian's family, I definitely wanted him to win!!! I know it is never suppose to be who needs the money, but Adrian sure could have used it for his career and family. Jen probably has money (that is just an assumption on my part.) Adrian was more likable, too! I think that his dessert did him in.

I didn't always like Jen either. Still, better her than Christian. Yes, and maybe winner should have been Adrien. But that's talking personalities.

I know quite a few people who cook quail. Both for special occasions (holidays) as well as just cuz. I'm interested in the "Adrien needed the money, Jen didn't" aspect. If this was a "who needs the money more" contest, then it wouldn't have been about cooking skills, would it? And why would you assume HE needs it more than SHE does?

Maybe they forget that a contest depends upon ability not need.

To me it wasn't about who needed the money. It was about likability and who was the better chef. I vote Adrien.

I loved Adrien's family, just from the glimpse we saw, too. But I thought he should have won on cooking, presentation and likeability. I didn't actually have a clue about their financial situations.

Jen fan here but I live in Wilmington DE so I had to cheer on my home girl. However, I would have been happy if Adrien won. But Jen did out cook him in the finale imo.

I watched it "On Demand" and had to leave the last 10 min or so - I was convinced that Adrien would win - why? Because a girl won last season! Was it just me or did they really eliminate to keep the male/female numbers pretty even? It became more noticeable to me towards the end - glad I was wrong in the aspect of the better cook should win - not based on gender... or the better sob story... or who needs money more... etc
