RN We usually just drive there.

It is a good zoo.

I want to see the Bronx Zoo, after watching The Zoo.

RN coupons for discounts is going to the top of my list of things to search for. I hadn't even thought about looking for any.

We're planning on spending one day at Balboa Park (there's like 15 different museums, though we haven't decided yet which ones we want to go to.) And a day or two wandering the touristy neighborhoods and fun spots. I'm looking for things to do that we haven't done on previous visits.

We got the GoCityCard for several items we toured in San Diego, and got serious savings on the Animal Park and other attractions.

You can load the app on your phone, and then you'll have your tickets, discounts handy without having to worry about paper stuff.

RN....It's definitely spring, just went on my deck to cover the furniture for the possible showers tonight. There is black robin poop everywhere!!!!

There are some trees around here with little black/blue berries that the birds love and when they fly by or roost in the tree it gets black poop all over everything.

RN, those City Passes are almost always good deals if you are going to spend several days in a big-ish city. Balboa Park is also very worthwhile. While there walking around, take a look at any flowering bushes, particularly big flowering bushes that seem to have a LOT of hummingbirds working the flowers. Then take a closer look. Those are not hummingbirds. They are hummingbird moths, and they have clear wings. Very cool thing to see. A free attraction. There is also a very cool restaurant in Balboa Park where the museums are. I forget the name of it, but it is famous and is freestanding. It's sort of expensive, but you probably should go there for lunch and then have a less expensive meal for dinner. If you are trying to economize on meals but eat healthier, supermarkets are often a way to go. Their deli sections will have healthier sandwiches than fast foods and often will serve two. When we are on the road, we also often eat from the prepared foods section of the supermarket, since many hotels these days come with refrigerators and microwaves. You can pick up something on the way back to the hotel and not have to go out again after a big day on the road or at museums and zoos.

Rn the go city pass looks like a great deal! We took the kids to the children's museum in Balboa park and ended up spending the rest of the day exploring the park, it was beautiful. I'm looking forward to more exploring there.

And funny you mention the deli section, Juju. I have a whole list of foods I can't eat and it makes going out to eat really difficult. These days we tend to stick to sandwich shops and delis. I figure if it gets too stressful trying to find restaurants I can eat at without worrying that we can always do sandwich stuff, but getting them already made at the grocery store probably would be easier than buying a bunch of sandwich stuff.

RN Don't click this link unless you want to be totally grossed out. It's a photo of my dog's butt after her operation.

We just picked Birdie Beagle up from the doctor after her operation. She had some kind of growth next to her butthole. It was large and deep. It looked like she had a testicle next to her butt. She also had a another growth removed from her knee. She has thrown up about 5 times since we got her home.

Remember, DON'T click if you have a weak stomach!

RN, last time I was down there, the spaghetti factory was still around in the gaslight district. You could do lunch there and then go over to the marina, shop walk around etc. It's really nice.

Holy crap Naja, not clicking based on your description.

RN I just discovered another Candy Crush "cheat". In level 3309, once you make it through the level, it will start cascading like normal with your leftover special candies. Except, it won't stop. If you just let it go, instead of stopping it, you can win the striped candy contest every time. For every 10 million points, I have found you can get approx 1000 points toward the striped candies. (except the first time you play it, You get 10x points the first time)

RN, I can't believe we have this nut-case arsonist who keeps burning down new construction housing. This is what, the 3rd or 4th one that has gone up in the bay area. I sure hope the investigators have looked into whether these are by the same contractors and if there is some connection there.

We already have a shortage of housing so this just burns my bacon big time!

And what is it that people don't understand about "Don't leave things in your car"....more car breakins....

In case you can't tell I am watching the news, LOL.
