Chewpito, I'm with you....I don't like AC either, I try to just use natural air circulation.

I was worried about the Nala and Sylvester. I finally got Sylvester to go into the "coolest" room in the house, the scarey AC machine is in there and it is unfortunately by their "special place", LOL.

I had to carry him in and bribe him with treats. He finally sniffed it a bit and laid down in there so maybe he will actually go in there if he gets hot.

I got Nala in there earlier, she is more of a tough girl, LOL.

My pups all merge to the bathroom floors...Its really the coolest room so they are smart that way. ha ha. I have so many fans in here its like a wind tunnel. air off and going to go watch 'ninja warriors' in bed...till I fall asleep. two fans pointed right at my bed and I just put a sheet over the whole thing and prop with pillows. No blankets needed...at all.. Drink a lot of water, and do your best.

OMG, I think it is actually cooling off a bit, I felt a definite change when the sun went lower in the sky.

LOL, for some reason my bathroom is one of the hottest rooms in the house, it has a southern exposure.

But my slate foyer is nice and cool and they gather there.

Your house sounds like mine, can't wait for this heat wave to be over.

Still under a heat advisory, but not that bad for my area. We are only going up somewhere between 95-98, depending on which weather reporter. It's a cool down, LOL, no triple digits.

But it is predicted that it might hit 120 somewhere in AZ, and I hear maybe 115 is some of the California deserts. Over the next few days.

I wonder how this high pressure system will impact the middle and eastern parts of the country over the next few days.

Hmmmm, thought there was no global warming, can't tell by me.

So my newest thing to combat the heat is to try to get the cool outside air into the house....I now place a fan on the balcony outside the slider to blow air into the house, LOL.

It actually seems to be working pretty well.

Heat warning has been extended for Arizona. Now we will be in triple digits through next weekend into that Monday. Phoenix equaled its record of 118 for Monday. Still a possibility of hitting 120 today. I was at 110 Monday.

Dipo, I am going to do that right now while its early, I hung tarps 'yes tarps' on all windows that receive sun from 1 pm till it goes down, its brutal. Even with the air on its like they are both fighting each other. The sun is winning. The tarps helped, but its so dark in here. They say hotter today then yesterday and no relief till maybe Sat or Sun. I must be getting old cause I am not liking it at all.

That is just brutal you guys. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable that must be. Theres no doing anything in that kind of heat. We are going to get into the 90's here by the weekend and to me thats too hot.. 120?? no way. NO WAY!
Stay safe and cool by any way possible!

Oh great! Now we have a flex alert....use power sparingly. And I saw on the news that a part of Walnut Creek down the street from me had a power outage yesterday...wondering if that had anything to do with my 2 power failures.

And today it is supposed to get up to 98; so far it is pretty cool inside and there is a good breeze outside. I went out to refill the bird bath and it felt nice outside, so hotter temps coming later today.

Chewpito what part of CA are you in? I can't even believe how bad AZ is getting this as well.

I just hope we don't get another one of these this year....I can manage a couple of high heat days, but five in a row is just awful.

Yep Cinnamongirl, I always say give me cold, I can put on more clothes, but with heat I can't exactly greet the UPS man naked, LOL.

As of 1pm, it is currently 110 at my location, and it is 117 in Phoenix. Hottest time of day is usually between 3pm and 4:30pm during the summer.

My humidity level is 8% and Phoenix is 10%. I can tell that it is very dry when I try to breath in the air. No moisture is detected by my nose. LOL

Oh and I never realized there was a temp at which planes shouldn't/couldn't fly, so amazing that flights are cancelled in Phoenix because of the extreme heat.

LOL Treasure, I hate that feeling in my nose...its dry here as well even tho the grass pollen count is high.

Now that I think about it for a minute, how can the grass pollen count be high, ours is dying, we can't afford the water for more than 4 days, it looks terrible.

Currently 98, low 61....guess we will be up late tonight.

Everytime I move a fan to blow in Sylvester's general direction he moves somewhere else, LOL. Guess he is okay with the heat.

I don't know what is going on, but the wind has come and I think maybe the fog is with it. It has cooled off dramatically at my house....

Hallelujah.

Oh I want a breeze. I live above Chico near Corning. I don't think I could handle Phoenix, I can barely handle 111,..ha ha
I do not run my air all day, I give myself 3 hrs, today 4.. the sun is just now going over the hills and that means around 45 mins and things will get 'a tad bit better'..It was 85 in my house this morning at 10 am, I knew that was a bad sign.. I would hate if my power went out. The dogs just hate this, Its really hard on them cause I dont dare take them anywhere with me, they want to go and dont understand why they are on lock down. Have a little plastic pool in my back they they stand in it but even that water gets hot and I have to switch it out. I know this is temporary, I hope...so just making do....

CG, you scared me with that 90's talk, considering I am almost due south of you. I guess you are actually further inland, and a lot further from a big cooling body of cold water. My city is on a salt water inlet that is part of Puget Sound and connects to the Pacific Ocean, which is that giant air conditioner out there. Our high is predicted to be 82 on Sunday.

yeah Juju, You're RIGHT on the water... we're inland by 45 mins to an hour... ALways hotter in the valley. We are forecast to be 32-33 degrees Celcius. Too hot for me... although 27 by the water would be heaven!

What a difference a day makes!!!! There was a big fog bank which made for an excellent evening and morning.

Now we are back to "Oppressive Heat". Actually not to bad in the house so far, but heading to the 100's.

I just hope the fog comes in tonight!

Weird, it feels sort of muggy, wonder what that is about....need to go to the weather channel.

No mention of high humidity on weather channel, but I did happen to catch a local update.

Only going to be 98, LOL, tomorrow 102!

So weird, Concord only 97 and Walnut Creek 100, it seems like it should be the other way around.

I haven't heard anything about canceled flights today. But Most likely, with the temps at 117 and 116, the smaller jets are still grounded during the day. Keep in mind that as the temps cool down at night, the daytime flights that were canceled, could begin to pick up the slack after dark. I expect that the temps will start to come down to 115 and lower. Once the temps drop below 110, everything will get back to normal.

Oh lordy, the high temps are coming. We are under an "Excessive Heat Warning" until 9pm.

Currently 87 and is doesn't seem like there is much of a breeze. Predicted high....somewhere between 100 and 103. I really need to get an outdoor thermometer.

I see from the weather channel we have Tornados in Mississippi and Alabama. Does it seem too early for tornado weather?

And I am wondering if everyone is ok down in the path of lovely TS Cindy.

It's so wonderful!!! really nice cool breeze blowing through the sliders while the sun sets. Thank you Carlthefog.

Even the birdies are enjoying it, many are dropping by the birdbath. Currently have a dove an a couple of sparrows, the size difference is funny to see.
