My husband had open heart surgery and has a large scar. That was the first thing I thought of when she talked of open heart surgery. Any one seeing a scar like that would know it was heart surgery. Sorry, but not really sure I believe her.

I didn't notice it during the show, but that is part of her main picture from cbs.com with the contrast turned up, and you can see what's probably the scar is vertically from quite high to below the bikini. She must have been very young at the time, because it's healed really well.

If you look at this picture, you can definitely see the scar... http://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/photos/81172/survivor-one-world-cast/81155 Doesn't make me like her any better..but the scar it there.

Here's a clearer one (sorry for the caption, I didn't write it, but it's the best shot I can see for showing the scar)
Maybe there was make up over it on the CBS shot.

Kim has been my pick to win from the very b eginning kinda because she has local ties. Her Dad was a coach at one of our 5A high schools prior to becoming the Athletic Dir./Head football coach at another Texas 5A high school. Our local paper did a nice write up on her prior to Survivor starting. She's always been very athletic. I'm enjoying watching her ability in challenges as well as her ability to keep a game head. I agree that at this point she is the one to beat. I think that she's played a very good social game as well. Kat &/or Troy may be able to turn the jury against her out of jealousy....especially Troy. I hope not. IMO, Kim can't win against Sabrina or Chelsea. Who knows if the men on the Jury would back Tarzan? Kim's best bet to take home the win would be to up against Alicia/Christina in F3.

No question that Kat was unlikable but she can just get in line with a whole series of unlikable people on this season. I suspect that many of the people there are equally self-centered. They're just better at hiding their feelings. And some of them aren't any better at hiding their feelings. Thinking of Coulton, Alicia, Troyzan, etc. Remember that the way people treated Bill was appalling. And the things that Alicia has said about Christina, etc. etc. etc. I just think that some of them claiming the high-road and saying they wanted Kat to take Christina and Tarzan out of empathy, borders on hypocrisy at best. What Jimmer said.}

Thanks for the pics. I didn't think she would make it up, so I was confused. Her scar healed much better (is less noticable) than my friend's daughter's. She is the same age as Kat and had her surgery at 5 months old.

Well, that does look like a heart surgery scar. How did we miss this during the tv shows? Could explain how she acts, she has probably been babied all her life by her parents, and I can't say that I wouldn't have done the same thing if she were my child. Surprised she passed the physical for Survivor.

I don't think Sandra "orchestrated" the evictions (either season) in the way that Kim has played. Kim is very much like Brian (in a non-icky manner) and also much like Todd (China). The key will be her jury speech. Can she play it the way that Todd did "strategic, YOU were a threat, I had a lot of respect for you" and remind them (gently) that it was a game. That's the big key. Cause right now she doesn't seem to have many fans already on the jury.

I think part of her problem is that it always looks like she's smirking a bit when people are voted out.

I agree about Sandra, Konamouse; I don't think she's is as good a player as she's sometimes portrayed, regardless of winning twice. For some reason I could never get behind her. Parvati, that's another story; I think she definitely should've won twice!

Wasn't there something VERY early on about Kat and Mike bonding because they had both had heart surgeries?

While I am a big Kim fan, if she is one of the finalist, I am not sure the jury would vote for her because of her good game play. As a group they have made, IMHO, some of the worse decisions in Survivor history. I have observed that some people live through major life situations and become more compassionate while others, like Kat, become more self-centered. While others, like me, just muddle through. So I do not think her health issues are an excuse for her seemingly lack of empathy for others. I also do not approve of her dressing very provocatively around a houseful of men at Ponderosa. In the game it appears to be very difficult to remain modest but at Ponderosa one has more clothing choices...of course I may just be a prude.

I like Kim as well — she's clearly been the best player this year. I'd give her a solid .75P rating (that's 3/4 of 1 Parvati). She does not quite have the gracious winner thing down yet.

As the group was sitting down for this last TC, there was a close-up of Kat. The scar was clearly visible.

Thanks, Kar! Sometimes I am not sure what I remember and what I imagine I remember!
